I have really missed being in my writing “groove” and today, I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon hanging out with my friend and fellow writer/author, Donna Dickson Deloney. We talked about our current works in progress, did a little research and came up with a plan to keep each other accountable for writing and completing our current works in progress.
Donna is one of the few people I have kept in touch with since the early 2000’s when we met at a writing conference in Florida. It is one of the best work-related friendships I have ever had. She’s like a sister and a counselor at the same time. I would venture to say she sees me the same way. It’s almost like handing over a newborn baby to a family member when we write. We know the family member will nurture the child. We trust the family member with the child, but we still want to kind of hold on to the child instead of leaving it in the care of said family member and enjoying a day off. That’s what we do with each other’s work. We put it out there to be nurtured, cared for and disciplined gently if needed.
Do you have a writing partner?

I’m glad you two were able to get together. It’s so cool that you now live near enough to be able to meet up! Keep writing – it makes you more you. 😃
