Are you in the mood?

Catchy title, huh? I mean in the mood to make some declarations for 2013. (Get your mind right. Hehehe!)

So it’s another year and like many who declare the start of a new year a new beginning, I’ve made a few silent declarations that I’ll now make public.

My first visit to Five Guys after making my declaration and what did I order? The vegetable burger and it was delish! (BTW, I didn’t eat beef anyway. Poultry was my meat of choice.)

My first one began in November 2012 when I promised myself to eat cleaner, wholesome foods. Ideally, foods that grow from the ground, not foods that are processed. What is a Pringle anyway? It is now eleven pounds later, I like this new decision and given the fact that I haven’t been to a doctor in months over some mystery illness, I believe it was the best decision for me. Do I miss chicken? Heck yeah! Do I miss the pain and suffering I’ve endured for the last few years? Not at all. Buffalo wing or pain-free? I choose the latter. I won’t ride my semi vegetarian horse here, but it was a declaration that I believe will ultimately add years to my life.

Secondly, I declare to finish the sequel to Too Many Lies this spring and anticipate a release somewhere around summer. It should’ve been done last year but life got in the way. I’ll be releasing a video blog on how life got in the way in February.

My last declaration is to write a screenplay and/or start another book by year’s end.

My list isn’t very long, but it doesn’t need to be. I know if I put it out there, you all will keep me accountable.

What are you in the mood for this year? Write that first manuscript? Get healthy? Start a business? It’s not too late to set some goals.

Get in the mood! What say you?

Peace,
DGR

I had many declarations and a few I stuck to. Thank you for dpeaking up and out. Whether you realized it or not more people follow you, than you may know. My goal is to get the ball game rolling for my book. It has been way to long and the time is now.

Thanks for posting Sakenia! Really? People follow me? I know out here in cyberspace, you never know who’s reading your stuff, but I always wonder if I’m effective.

      Thanks for the reassurance.

      Now get to writing!

No chicken??? No meat at all?????????? You go girl! How did I not know that? That is NOT on my list. Not yet anyway but way to go. You rock! Great blog post.

That’s why I said semi vegetarian. I have fish occasionally, but yep, mostly things that grow.

There’s a naturalist who appears regularly on the Michael Baisden show and she always says, “Ladies, you’ve got to leave that yard bird alone. If you suffer from fibroids, endometriosis and heavy menses, chicken and all the stuff they’re injected with is probably part of, if not the culprit. I just had to have a piece my husband was eating last weekend and when I tell you I was sick for two days… I was trying to figure out why I was in so much pain and what had I done differently. Then it dawned on me. SMH

I’m in the mood for showing the world who I am. I have survived the Journey of “Finding Me”, now I’m ready to reveal myself to others!

    Hi Daphine,

Thanks for posting the reminder to check out your blogs. This is my evidence I ahve read through and been here (circa LOL). Fact is, you have some wonderful insights and “one of the things that irritate me” are people and their new years resolutions. I prefer the any day of the year resolution and I am proud you have made such a life style change. I began my own Oct 22, 2012. I woke up and decided, its time to get in shape. I started with simple non-impact excercise and now, nearly 4 months later and 22 lbs lighter, I am running (via the old treadmill) or biking (stationary of course) 45-50 minutes a day, 5 days a week. YES, I miss sleeping in. YES, I have times I want to “give it a rest”, but in the end, I am proud to be me and have kept my commitment. And thank you for posting your own journey – it encourages me to know there are others on a similar journey toward improving our “rocking chair years”.

My one “big” discovery, I might be getting healthier but it is not changing my race with time. But, I sure am enjoying the journey, aka joyrider6482! God Bless!
